Do you have plans on September 14th? No? Good, because you don’t want to miss the opportunity to listen to a local artist, support land conservation in Alabama and meet other environmentally focused people, all for just $10-$15.

We’re excited to announce Greener State is sponsoring Land Aid 2018, the Freshwater Land Trust’s 10th annual fundraising concert. The event will be held on September 14th at Avondale Brewing Company. Will Stewart, an artist and songwriter based in Birmingham, will headline the night.

Land Aid is a well-attended event, bringing in over 500 attendees each year. Previous headliners include Pete Yorn, The Wild Feathers, and St. Paul and the Broken Bones.

We’re big fans of the Freshwater Land Trust. It’s a nonprofit organization that works to protect land and build trails across Central Alabama. You may already enjoy some of their projects like Five Mile Creek, Turkey Creek Nature Preserve, Red Mountain Park, and Seven Springs. They’re also building the Red Rock trail system, a network of trails in Jefferson County, Alabama – the Rotary Trail is a popular one!

  • 11,000 acres of land protected throughout Central Alabama
  • 750 miles of planned multi-use trails, parks, bike lanes, and sidewalks in progress
  • 22 years of preserving places that matter

It’s easy to get involved with the Freshwater Land Trust. You can donate, volunteer, or attend an event to support conservation efforts in Alabama. The 10th Annual Land Aid concert is a great place to start. Tickets are on sale now! We can’t wait to see you there. In fact, we’re even doing a ticket giveaway next week, so be sure to follow us @greenerstate on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
